Jürgen Engel, Principal of KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten in Frankfurt, was educated at Technische Universität Braunschweig, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, RWTH University in Aachen, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has led KSP to great international success over the last years.

KSP’s projects include the Tianjin Art Museum in China (2012) and the PalaisQuartier with the Nextower (2009) in Frankfurt. The company’s international breakthrough came with the National Library of China (2008) in Beijing. The award winning work of KSP covers a wide range of building types, from art museum and institutional buildings, via offices and hotels, to hospitals and clinics. KSP has also designed numerous urban plans, both in Europe and Asia.

His lecture titled ‘FUNCTIONALITY AND IDENTITY IN ARCHITECTURE’ gives a deep insight to the architectural ideas behind their works.
